Craftsman Style Remodel/Addition

Project Overview

After designing this couple's Modern Barndominium, Karen Childress Designs was called when the Van Asltyne couple was ready to remodel and up-date their authentic Craftsman style home.  The home was in desperate need of a kitchen update as well as additional bathrooms as it only had one small bathroom for the whole house.

Karen helped the couple create a new functional kitchen with adequate pantry space as well as an island.  With updated appliances and new larger window this kitchen is a joy to work in.

The owners needed to add a master bathroom suite to the upstairs bedroom, remodel the existing downstairs bathroom, and convereted a small office space into a guest powder room upstairs.  The bathroom suite was added by opening up attic space with a shed dormer addition which allowed for a large shower/bath wet space as well as a double vanity and toilet room.  A skylight was added to the stair landing for more light.

While the couple was updating the interior of their house, they also finished the exterior to complete a lovely historic home.
